Leah's Two!

It's hard to believe but our baby girl will be two in less than three hours. We had a party for her on Sunday. I put up some decorations while she was napping and when she woke up I showed her what I did and she said "thank you Mama!" Everytime she sees them she still says thank you to me! What a sweet little girl we have! Mark & I took her to see Sesame Street Live and we were a little worried that she wouldn't sit still and it would be a waste of money but she surprised us. She was on and off of her seat throughout the entire show but that was because she was standing up and dancing for some of it! She really enjoyed it and I had so much fun watching her that I didn't really watch much of the show.

At her party when we sang happy birthday to her she got embarrassed and looked away from everyone with a smirk on her face - it was the cutest thing! She loved all of her presents and even gave an "awwww" to a sweatshirt my mom gave her. She kept hugging my brother and saying thank you after he put together the barn that he and his family gave to her.

Leah has a great interest in mail and mail trucks lately. She gets so excited when we go grab the mail and she points out every mail truck and blue mail box that she sees. She DOES NOT like what she calls "beep, beep trucks". The road by ours was under construction for well over a month and the construction trucks were just too loud for her and she always wanted to go back in the house when she heard the beeping of the trucks going in reverse.

She has what we call "the look" and she really enjoys showing off her look. She is such a ham and still a drama queen and she makes life very interesting :) Mia has a look too - rolling or batting of the eyes! I didn't think I would see that until she was a teen or at least a tween.

Mia is doing well in school and has a great memory. Every spelling test she has taken she has scored a 10 out of 10. She is always beaming everytime we ask how she did. As a second grader they get to participate more at their school mass. Last time she did a petition and sang in the choir. This Wednesday she gets to read part of the introduction and sing in the choir. She really enjoys church and right now is very interested in Saints. I gave her a little book of women saints that I had when I was little and she just loves it. She even picked a saint book to read from her school library too. It is so great seeing her wanting to learn more about her religion. Little sister too likes to pray before every meal and always asks us to pray before we even sit down.

Mia has told us that she does not like her middle name which is her chinese name. It makes me sad that she feels this way but I think I remember a lot of kids that didn't like their middle names so hopefully it is just a phase. I want her to be proud of her name and not feel ashamed because it is different.

Halloween was fun! Mia was a wizard and Leah was a Care Bear. Mia looks so good in black. Leah loves her costume and really got into trick-or-treating or as she said at every house "twick tweet"! We only go around our block and I think only half of the houses hand out candy but I think we have enough candy to last until next halloween.

It is hard to believe that we are half way thru November and Thanksgiving is next week. We have an awful lot to be thankful for this year so I just want to say thank you to all our family and friends you each share a special place in our hearts!
