Now what? The unforeseen changes

We have been home now for almost 3 weeks, and one of the things that doesn’t get mentioned by adopting families is how different everything is once your adoption has taken place.  Yes, our houshold is up sidedown right now with changes, but those were expected and will eventually become a normal day in our home.  The changes I’m talking about are the ones that I didn’t expect or realize would come once we got back home.  For instance, at work almost daily for over 4 years, during my lunch time, I would surf those well known sites for China adoption families, looking for the latest and greatest information as to any movement in the process.  I have watched and follow 100’s of travel blogs over the last 4 years, followig their steps as they were joined with their children.  I would search for photos from Mia’s birthplace, wondering exactly where did she come from, and wondering where our baby was at.  So many things have now changed since our family has become complete.  Its really strange, I feel totally at lost from those sites now.  I hope this feel will change, but at this time, I haven’t visited one of those sites since we got back home.  The need to know should still be there, but for some reason, I feel totally unplugged from the whole China adoption process right now.  Hopefully with time that connect will reappear

Leah continues to bloossom more and more each day.  She has become much stronger over the last few weeks, and should be crawling all over the place in no time at all.  Its hard to imagine our family not including her or having Mia as a big sister.  By the way, Mia is still doing awesome, and is looking forward to going back to school in a this week.

Don't worry Mark. Your love and appreciation for China is not gone. It gave you the most precious of gifts. Right now you are where you always dreamed; and the feeling of completion and fullness is really what your feeling. Your heart is full. Your mind is still grasping the journey, but you will always be connected to China. Love you always, Pam

You have returned from China with the most precious treasure-----you are now able to feel this blessing growing in your home. Your connection to China will persist for all time as you teach your daughters about their culture---
