Our Girls

Mia started school last week and really loves it. She has 18 kids in her class. I was worried that she wouldn't want to go to school while Mom and Leah stayed home and had fun without her but I guess that was my worry and not hers! Mia is a great big sister and Leah's face lights up when she sees her. Mia has grown up so much and she seems to have adjusted to her new life and her new role of big sister and mom & dad's helper. She has now taken it upon herself to find things to do on her own such as going outside to play by herself. For those that don't know her that well she is not the type of kid to go and play by herself she would rather hang out with mom or dad. I guess she figures that it is more fun than watching her mom or dad take care of little sis :)

Leah is growing up so fast. She is getting stronger and stronger everyday. When we first got her, her neck muscles were so weak and her head would always fall forward. She is now sitting up by herself with fewer and fewer fall downs. She scoots on her belly and does a fast 360 degree turn on her belly. She has gotten up on all fours and even lunged forward for a toy. We are in big trouble when she starts crawling. She makes the funniest "squishy face" as Mia calls it. We tried to get a picture of it and the picture at the top is as good as we got. She has been with us now for about a month and a half but it seems like she has always been a part of our life.

We are very lucky that God put these two wonderful girls in our lives. We cannot imagine life without them.

Glad to hear Leah is doing well. It is amazing to see the changes develop so quickly as they grow and learn. Mia will have wonderful memories of what it took to bring her sister home--

Thanks Nanny for the comments. Yes, Mia's memories from this journey will last forever. Just a few nights ago, we were talking about China. She said, she definately wants to go back, but this time to her hometown of Yueyang.
