Mia's Eight

Hard to believe but our "little" girl is now 8 years old, actually 8 yrs & 1 month old now! For some reason on her birthday this year really got me thinking about her Chinese birthmom. We are so proud of Mia and I hope that her Chinese mom knows that she is loved and well taken care of. I wish I could tell her what a beautiful girl Mia is on the inside and out. This past Saturday I took Mia out to breakfast, some shopping and a movie while Mark took Leah out for the morning. It was so fun having that one on one time with her. I love her zest for life. Love how excited she gets about school, about religion and gymnastics. I have a lot of mommy guilt still with Mia because Leah takes up so much of my time and energy so being able to spend all morning with her was so great. Mia was so excited a couple of weeks ago when she found out that she got to read the first reading for her school mass. The teacher told Mark that she loved seeing a kid get so excited about participating at mass. After she learned she was going to do the reading she asked the teacher if she had the reading ready to take home so she could start practicing right away. She practiced and practiced and made us so proud at mass as she did such a good job.

Little sister is still keeping us on our toes. I hope to think she is keeping us young and we will live to be 100!!! She loves to tease just like her BaBa. She loves singing and at music class last week she was telling the teacher how to run the class so much so that the teacher made the comment "I don't think I need to be here I think I will just Leah take over!". She is stubborn like a typical two-year-old. She is also very affectionate and loves to give hugs and kisses. After the school mass she ran up to our priest and gave him a hug and a kiss because according to Leah you cannot just give a hug it has to be followed with a kiss! The following week at our church she had to give him a hug and kiss again. She wanted to again this past Sunday but we left out the side door so we didn't get to see the priest on the way out and Leah was a bit disappointed. She still loves being outside no matter what the weather. Luckily it has been a very mild winter so she has been outside riding her little bikes or just running around. She loves the snow too so we haven't been able to enjoy sledding as much as we would like to.
