Another month has come and gone. It is so hard to believe that seven months have past since we brought Leah home and she is now 16 months old. Leah has changed so much in the past month. She has finally slept through the whole night now going on almost two weeks! BaBa (Mark) is really happy since he was the one who has been getting up with her during the night since I've had back problems. Leah loves her BaBa very much. She loves it when her BaBa doesn't have to work on the weekend. Leah got upset when Mark to our dog for a walk one night so I tried to make her happy with ice cream but she would not eat any of it until Mark got back and only if he fed it to her :) Leah loves to color and will even lay down on her belly and scribble away. She knows exactly where her crayons are and will lead us to the closet to get them for her. She LOVES being outside. Today was such a beautiful day and we played outside a lot which wore her out. She is going to be our little tomboy you should've seen the mud and dirt on her pants when we went in the house. She likes to swing and it melted my heart to see the joy and sweet smile on her face as I pushed her. It's fun being a mom because you also get to play like a kid again too! She is still not saying too many words. Mark was trying to teach her how to say Jesus before we went to church on Sunday which was so cute. I taught her some sign language when we first came home and that helps alot she has even invented some of her own sign language and there is still one thing she signs for but I haven't figured it out and that really frustrates her!
I love watching Leah and Mia play together. It doesn't happen a lot since Mia is in school and Leah sometimes does not want to play with big sister and will let big sister know it too! They had a lot of fun outside together today after Mia got out of school. Mia was a good big sister and took her down the slide with her, swung with her and helped load up her cart with some of the snow that is left.
Mia amazes us everyday with how much she has learned this year in school. There is no sweeter sound than having your child read you a book. I also can't believe how much they learn in first grade that we probably didn't learn until third grade. It is so sweet seeing her face light up when I help out in the lunchroom at school. She was a "scientist of the week" yesterday and she made me so proud. I think I was more nervous than she was. She presented her project like a pro and answered a tough question from one of the kids without her teacher's help. I am so lucky to be able to be a stay-at-home mom so I can participate in her school activities. Also, thanks to my sis-in-law & Mark sometimes for watching Leah while I help Mia in school. Mia is such a sweetheart with a kind heart and I am glad that she hasn't changed too much since Leah came into our life. She has had some challenges with it but seems to be pretty well adjusted to it now. She loves Leah a lot and we cannot wait to watch them grow up together. God has blessed us with two beautiful girls inside and out. We are so honored to be their parents :)
