Learning New Things

Mia is loving preschool and she has been learning a lot of new things, some good and others not so good from the other kids in her class.

First the good things. She can zip up her coat without any help. Her teacher showed her how to do it just once and that was all it took. Her new word for the day is "responsibility". Each kid in her class gets a turn at taking care of Marmalade the teddy bear. Her name was drawn first and when I picked her up I asked her about it and she told me that it was a big responsibility taking care of Marmalade. Now the not so good but oh so funny thing. I was talking to Mia about something and she looked at me with a straight face and said "oh MaMa be real"!

Mia loves to help me bake and cook. We make cookies and her favorite part is licking the spoon just like her MaMa. We went to an apple orchard and picked out pumpkins and also got some apples. She helped me make my first ever apple pie. The other day she and I made a homemade pizza too. After we made the pie I said to her wasn't that fun and she said "like a dream come true".

Her sayings or as my friend calls them "Mia-isms" are what truly make my day. I never knew that being a parent was so rewarding and that the littlest things could make such a huge difference in my life.

Take care everyone.
