Here we are already in November. We have been home with Leah for over three months now and she will turn one a week from today. My little girl is growing up so fast. Since the last post Leah has been a very busy little "party" girl. We had a "meet and greet" in Manistee so our family and friends could meet her. She did really well considering that she was pretty afraid of new people. She had a great time and even gave out some smiles. Thanks to all who came and to all who helped with the party.
She was baptized on Oct. 23rd in a little private ceremony after church. She was very fidgety during church but didn't cry when the water was poured over her head. She did try and give the Deacon a high five as he was holding his hand over her and praying over her. It was nice to have family and friends there to witness her becoming a member of the church.
As if that weren't enough celebrations, we are having a party for her this weekend as she turns one. Mia has picked the theme, decorations and even helped pick what kind of cake we will attempt to make for her. Big sister has had to take a backseat to little sister so through some great advice of a good friend she suggested to me to let Mia plan the party.
Mia will be having a celebration of her own soon too. December 9th marks her six-year Gotcha Day. It amazes me that it's been six years. She is growing up to be a wonderful "big girl". She really cherishes the time between when Leah goes to bed and when she goes to bed as then she has her mom and dad all to herself. She loves to cuddle up with one of us and watch a movie. Her reading amazes me. It is such a precious thing to have your child read to you. Mia sings in the church choir and got to sing for the first time in church a couple of weeks ago. One of her favorite things at school is music class.
Leah is progressing by leaps and bounds. She pulls herself up and is starting to try and stand on her own be it only a second or two but she is so proud of herself. She can blow kisses and give kisses (the big open mouth wet kind)! She even gave an unknown three-year old a kiss at the mall today in the play area. The boy kept putting his face in hers so she finally just planted a wet one on him right there :)
We are looking forward to spending the upcoming holidays as a family of four. We are however quite worried about the Christmas tree surviving for even one day after Bug-a-boo sees it. She is the type of kid that if you tell her no that means why then I guess I better give it a try and find out what happens!
Blessings to all.
