Here are some fun facts about the city or county where Leah comes from. Fengxin, which is the city Leah is from, is only 145 miles away ( as the crow fly’s) from Yueyang(Yueyang is where Mia came from). But with the vast mountain ranges that are between those two cities, along with the limited road system, it would take you over 6 hours to complete the journey by car.
Fengxin is in the Northwest part of of the Jiangxi province( highlighted in RED), and West from the province capital of Nanchang at just over 30 miles away. Fengxin County has a population at around 280,000 residents. The city, itself has a around 75,000 residents. Fengxin location along the beautiful mountain ranges, and cascading waterfalls, makes Fengxin a very popular scenic tourist stop. The region is known for its high quality bamboo, kiwi fruit, and hot water springs.
It’s fun learning all about the area where Leah comes from. I know as much as possible already about Yueyang, not to mention the personal contacts I have over there, but at this point its really been hard for me to fully understand the classifications given to regions in and around Fengxin. I’m not sure if the orphanage is actually in the city of Fengxin or in the country side somewhere. O well, the search will continue
