Still waiting.....

We continue to wait for our turn in the referral process from China.  At the present time, referrals have been sent out to adopting families with a log in date of March 28, 2006.  Our log in date is April 19th 2006, which doesn't sound that far away, but when China is only referring 2-3 days per month, its not a good picture to think about.

Now here's the possible bad news.  The head of the CCAA ( China Center of Adoption Affairs), Director Lu Yin, has or will be reassigned to a new post within the Chinese bureaucracy.  His new post is rumored not to be a promotion, but a demotion.  Many times these types of changes within their systems are conducted with a low profile, so no one is really saying if this is true.  His replacement, Zhang Shifeng, previously held the assistant director of the Ministry of Civil Affairs position.  One can debate, the countries leadership were not happy with Director Lu Yin's performance in regulating the system, and making sure internationally, that China would not lose face in the area of adoptions.  Unfortunately, there have been some well known issues that have arisen over the last few years, which have not been that positive for the CCAA.

As with any major changes in leadership, the system its self could come to a complete stand still, while the new director appoints new assistance directors and sets up his new system and regulations.  It is this issue, which has many of us waiting families left once again in the dark as to the future of the China adoption process.

Attached are a few new photo's of Mia.  She had almost 6 inches cut off in length, and now looks so big.
