Last Friday was Mia's birthday. We celebrated with a few parties last weekend. One for family members, and one for the little kids. We were fortunate, the weather broke for those few days, so out of town family members could join us.
Mia had a "My Little Pony" party for the kids day. Even though we missed half of the kids at the party, due to illnesses, we still had a good time. By Sunday afternoon, Mia was whipped. She had celebrated just about all she could celebrate.
I sit in amazement at how much she has grown over the last 6 months. Just yesterday, I asked Mia if she remembers how to say "good morning" in Chinese.
She turned to me and said with out missing a beat while still playing with her toys-"zao-shang hao". I almost fell out of my chair, since I had only told her how to say it a few times many weeks, if not months ago. Even during that time, when I was teaching her how to say it, she never once even tried to pronounce it. I am still amazed, but I guess that's what life is like with all children. I can't wait for next jaw dropping moment to come our way.
Our wait for Mia's sister:
We haven't received any news, and the rumors out there, say the process could be slowing down even more. The Chinese government has released the referrals for all applicants with a log in date of prior to 12/27/05. As our log in date is 4/19/06, and at the current rate the referrals are being released, it could be ( are you sitting down?) another 17 months of waiting for us. That would put us in at.....around July 2009. Lets pray it speeds up after the Olympic's
.
