Going to the Beach!

A few weeks ago, we made plans to spend a weekend up North and go to the beach, Ann and I grew up on. I took the Friday off from work so we could spend 2 full days on the shoreline. The weather and the fun we had couldn't have been better. Friday, Nei-Nei and Papa (my parents) came with us and on Saturday, cousin Shelby and La La ( Ann's mom) came along. It was just great. The beaches weren't over crowded and the water was warm. Mia had a ball playing with Shelby, and splashing me in Lake Michigan. One night, we went out for ice cream with my parents. Mia was so looking forward to going for ice cream with Papa and Nei-Nei. We were also fortunate enough to catch cousin Mikes last game of the year for the Manistee Saints, but the best part for Mia was joking and dancing around with Uncle Toe ( my brother, Tim).

There are definite times when I can see how much our daughter has grown up in just a few months. She's more and more confident in herself and what she can do. At one point, I had to run and catch up to her, running down the beach. She wanted to go talk to a family who were flying some kites down the beach from us. I said, "sure, go ask them", thinking of course she wouldn't dare leave, but the next thing I know, she is sprinting down the beach almost half way there. It was at that moment I wanted to scream..."STOP!....stop growing up so fast, I'm not sure I can keep up with all these changes".
Life is so good, so live it like Mia, and feel free to run down your own beach.
